Why it does not pay to wait
When the grid drops in a Texas storm or freeze, an unprepared home loses heat, refrigeration, medical equipment, and the well pump if you have one. An improper generator hookup is worse: it can backfeed the line and electrocute a lineman. Waiting risks both comfort and a life.

We service and repair standby generators as well as install them. A unit that will not start, will not transfer, or drops out under load usually comes down to a short list on the electrical side: the battery or its charger, the transfer switch, the controller, or the wiring between them. We find which one, quote the repair flat, and fix it.
Home generator maintenance is what keeps a standby unit ready for the outage it was bought for. We check the battery and charger, the transfer switch, and the connections, and tell you plainly what is due and what is not.

- Note whether you have natural gas, propane, or neither. That drives the generator type.
- Find a spot outside, away from windows, where a unit could sit.
- Never run a portable generator into a wall outlet. Ask us about a proper interlock or transfer switch instead.
