A breaker is made to trip when a circuit draws more than it should. When one trips with little running, will not reset, or feels warm at the handle, the breaker itself may be failing, or it may be catching a fault further down the circuit. We find out which before anything is replaced.
A replacement has to be a breaker listed for your panel. One that snaps in but is not made for that panel can make poor contact with the bus and overheat. We fit the correct breaker, GFCI and AFCI breakers included, and look over the panel while the cover is off.
What circuit breaker replacement covers
- Breakers that trip with little or no load
- Breakers that will not reset
- Breakers that are warm, buzzing or discolored
- GFCI and AFCI breakers
- The breaker your panel is listed for
- A look over the panel while it is open
How a circuit breaker replacement goes
- 1.You tell us which breaker is acting up and what is on that circuit.
- 2.The electrician tests the breaker and the circuit to tell a failing breaker from a fault it is catching.
- 3.You get one flat price for the new breaker and approve it before work starts.
- 4.The breaker is replaced with the listed type, its connection tightened to spec, and the circuit tested under load.

FAQ
Common questions
Straight answers. If you do not see yours, call us and ask.
A breaker that trips when the circuit is barely loaded, or will not reset at all, may be failing. One that trips when a certain appliance runs is often doing its job. Testing the circuit tells the two apart, which is why we check before replacing.
