Where to start

Which Generac generator is right for a home or a business?

The right Generac is the smallest unit that carries your load list, including how the air conditioning starts. We sell and install Generac home standby and commercial generators, sized at a free visit, installed with a transfer switch, permitted, inspected and serviced after. Restaurants, medical offices and other businesses that cannot lose power get the same work at commercial scale.

Home standby generators

Generac's Guardian home standby line includes the sizes below, each rated by Generac for propane and for natural gas. The right one is the smallest that carries your load list, including the air conditioning starting.

  • 14kW: 14,000 watts on propane, 14,000 watts on natural gas
  • 18kW: 18,000 watts on propane, 17,000 watts on natural gas
  • 22kW: 22,000 watts on propane, 19,500 watts on natural gas
  • 24kW: 24,000 watts on propane, 21,000 watts on natural gas
  • 26kW: 26,000 watts on propane, 22,500 watts on natural gas

Installation

We set the unit, install the transfer switch, wire it to your panel, pull the electrical permit and start it up under load. Gas line and gas connection are not included. That is a licensed plumber's work and we quote it separately.

What a Generac costs installed

An installed price is the unit, the transfer switch, the electrical work, the gas line, the placement and the permit. What moves each one, and how to get your own number, is in the cost guide.
