An outlet in the wrong place is a daily nuisance. It ends up behind the headboard, under the sofa, or a foot to the side of where the TV now hangs, and the workaround becomes an extension cord across the floor. Moving it puts power where the room is actually used.
The wiring decides how a move is done. When the new spot is close, the existing cable can sometimes be extended. When it is not, we run new wire from the outlet before it on the circuit, or from the panel. Either way every splice stays in a box you can reach, because code does not allow a splice to be buried in a wall.
TV walls have a fix of their own. Mounting a TV high leaves its cord hanging down to an outlet near the floor, and running that cord inside the wall is not allowed, because it is not made for it. A new outlet behind the screen is the code compliant way to hide it, with a low voltage pass through for the cables if you want one.
Kitchen and bath remodels move outlets and switches along with the cabinets. A new backsplash, a moved counter or a vanity at a different height can leave every box in the wrong place. Countertop outlets also carry spacing rules and GFCI protection, so we lay them out with the new counter rather than around the old one.
Drywall is part of the job, and we plan for it. Openings are cut as small as the route allows and placed where they are easy to patch, and we show you where they will be before any cutting starts.

How outlet relocation goes
- 1.You show us where each outlet or switch is now and where you want it.
- 2.The electrician traces the circuit, picks the route for the wire, and marks where the wall will be opened.
- 3.You get one flat price for the relocation and approve it before work starts.
- 4.The wiring is extended or run new, each box is set and covered to code, and every outlet and switch is tested in its new spot.

FAQ
Common questions
Straight answers. If you do not see yours, call us and ask.
Usually. Moving an outlet along the same wall, or into the next space between studs, often needs only the old and the new openings. Longer moves can need one or two small openings where the wire changes direction. We show you where before we cut.
