Why it does not pay to wait
Bad connections in fixtures and switches, and DIY wiring that was never to code, run hot behind the cover plate. A switch that feels warm or buzzes is the early warning. Ignored, that path ends at a burned box inside the wall.
Good lighting is not about adding more fixtures. It is about putting the right light in the right place. We lay out recessed cans on a real grid, hang fans that do not wobble, and run landscape lighting that makes the front of your home look the way it should after dark.

Ceiling fan installation: a swap, or a new location
If a fan is already up on a fan-rated box and the switching does what you want, a new fan is a straightforward swap. If there is no fan there now, the job is a box rated to carry a fan, cable to it, often a switch leg, and sometimes a ceiling opened and closed again.
We check the box rather than assuming it. The code requires a box listed for fan support under a ceiling fan, because a box made for a light fixture is not built to hold a moving load.
Landscape lighting
Most residential landscape lighting is low voltage: a transformer steps 120 volts down to 12, which is what makes buried runs practical and safe. We size the transformer for the load with headroom, so the system can grow without starting over.
Connections are where these systems fail, so they get direct-burial rated connectors, and the exterior circuit feeding the transformer gets GFCI protection. The price turns on fixture count, run length, transformer size, and whether that exterior circuit already exists.

- Check whether an existing box is rated for a ceiling fan before you hang one.
- Set aside any fixtures you already bought so we install exactly what you chose.
