Where we travel

Which Texas cities does Wattsmith travel to for commercial electrical work?

Outside the San Antonio area we travel for commercial, industrial and commercial standby generator work to Houston, Katy, Sugar Land, The Woodlands, Dallas, Fort Worth, Arlington, Grapevine, Plano, Frisco, Austin, Round Rock, San Marcos and Corpus Christi. Our Texas electrical contractor license is statewide, and each city page shows that city's own permit and registration rules.

Houston, Katy, Sugar Land and The Woodlands

CenterPoint Energy owns the wires across most of the Houston area, Sugar Land included. Houston registers electrical contractors through its Electrical Inspections section, and Katy registers contractors who work inside its limits. In The Woodlands, an unincorporated township, Entergy Texas or CenterPoint serves an address, and Montgomery County reviews development.

Dallas Fort Worth

Oncor Electric Delivery owns the wires in Dallas and Fort Worth. Each of Dallas, Fort Worth and Arlington registers electrical contractors before it issues a permit, and Grapevine, Plano and Frisco register electrical contractors too. In several of these cities a cooperative or CoServ serves some addresses.

Corpus Christi and the coast

AEP Texas provides power to the majority of Corpus Christi, and the city registers electrical contractors with no fee. Corpus Christi is home to the Port of Corpus Christi.

San Antonio, our base

In the San Antonio area, New Braunfels included, we do commercial and residential work. In the Houston, Austin, Dallas Fort Worth and Corpus Christi areas we also wire new homes for builders. Service calls, repairs and remodels on existing homes stay in the San Antonio area only. Every other city is commercial and industrial only.
