What working in this metro actually involves

San Antonio is not one housing stock, it is several sitting next to each other. Inside Loop 410 there are homes wired before an equipment grounding conductor was required, on original services, with panels from manufacturers that no longer exist. The 1970s and 1980s subdivisions that ring them have aluminum branch wiring and panels that were sized for a house with one air conditioner and no EV. The newer build-out north and west has modern wiring and a different problem: capacity, because the loads people are adding now were not on anyone’s list when the service was sized.

That is why we quote after looking rather than over the phone. The same request means different work depending on which of those three houses you live in.

The other constant here is the utility and the city. Permitted electrical work in San Antonio is inspected by the city, and anything touching the service is coordinated with CPS Energy. Both of those are our job to handle, not yours.
