Gym build-outs
A gym build-out lays out power from the equipment plan: where the cardio rows sit, where the strength machines go, and what the front desk, sound and lighting need. We work from the plan and the GC's schedule through the inspections.
Electrician for gyms and fitness centers
Build-outs and remodels for gyms and studios, with circuits for cardio rows and machines, lighting, sound, and locker rooms, in spaces that open early and close late.
What the work involves
A gym build-out needs power laid out from the equipment plan, with treadmills and other powered machines usually on their own circuits as the manufacturer's sheets specify. Lighting and controls for open floors and studios, circuits for the sound system, and GFCI and wet location wiring in locker rooms and showers complete the work.

Treadmills and other powered machines usually call for their own circuits, as the manufacturer's installation sheet specifies. We wire each row from those sheets so machines are not sharing circuits they were never meant to share.
Open floors, studios and group rooms need lighting that can be set for the class, and the sound system needs clean power. We install the lighting and controls and the circuits the sound supplier calls for.
Locker rooms, showers and any pool or spa area carry GFCI and wet location rules, and pools and spas fall under NEC Article 680 with its bonding requirements.
The common calls are breakers tripping when every machine runs at peak hours and equipment added on shared circuits. We size circuits from the equipment sheets and label the panel to the floor plan, so the next machine goes on the right circuit.
Inside the city limits, the electrical permit goes through the City of San Antonio Development Services Department, under the 2023 National Electrical Code the city adopted effective May 1, 2025. We pull the permit and meet the inspector. We schedule the inspections around your opening date.
