Preventive and shutdown maintenance

Industrial electrical maintenance that keeps San Antonio lines running

Most electrical failures on a plant floor give warning first: a connection running hot, a breaker that trips now and then, a motor drawing more than it used to. A maintenance program finds those on a schedule, while the line is running or during a planned shutdown, instead of in the middle of a shift.

What the program involves

What does an industrial electrical maintenance program include?

An industrial electrical maintenance program includes a written list of the equipment production depends on, checks set for each piece, and a written condition report after each visit. Infrared scans, load readings and visual checks happen while the line runs, and connection torquing, enclosure cleaning and repairs are done during planned shutdowns.

Setting up the program

We walk the plant with you, list the equipment that matters most to production, and set the visits and checks for each piece. The program is written down, so you know what is checked, how often, and what you get after each visit.

  • An equipment list ranked by what production depends on
  • Visits and checks set per piece
  • A written program you keep

Checks while the line runs

Infrared scans of loaded panels, switchgear, disconnects and motor connections show heat that the eye cannot. Load readings and a look at drives, controls and panel conditions round out the visit without stopping anything.

  • Infrared scans under load
  • Load readings on key circuits
  • Visual checks of panels, drives and controls

Shutdown work

Planned shutdowns are when connections get torqued, enclosures get cleaned and inspected inside, and the repairs the running checks found get done. We build the work list with you before the shutdown so it fits the window.

  • A work list agreed before the shutdown
  • Connections torqued and enclosures cleaned
  • Repairs from the running checks

Written condition reports

After each visit you get a written report: what was checked, what was found, what was fixed and what is recommended, ranked by urgency. Every recommended repair gets a written price before the work is done.

Safety and arc flash labels

Energized checks follow safe work practices, and equipment likely to be worked on while energized carries the arc flash warning labels NEC 110.16 calls for. The figures on a detailed label come from an arc flash study, which is engineering work; we keep the labels in place and flag changes that mean the study should be updated.

What goes wrong without it

Without a program, the first sign of a loose connection is often the failure itself, during a shift, with the line down until parts arrive. A scheduled program turns most of those failures into planned repairs on your timetable.

FAQ

What do plant managers ask about scheduled electrical maintenance?

Straight answers. If you do not see yours, call us and ask.

It depends on the equipment, how hard it runs and what production depends on it. The program sets the interval for each piece, and the written report after each visit shows whether it should change.
